Frequently Asked Questions

Plain answers about arranging, managing and using insurance through Jawany.

Before cover starts

Quotations and underwriting

A quotation is part of an underwriting process. It is not evidence that cover is already active.

No. Any online figure is indicative. The final premium, excesses, limits and conditions are confirmed only after an insurer reviews the complete risk information.

Cover begins on the effective date confirmed in writing after the insurer accepts the risk and the required premium or agreed payment condition has been met. A submitted form, payment request or quotation does not by itself start cover.

Insurers use identity, ownership, value, use, health, financial and claims information to assess the risk and set terms. Requirements differ by product. We explain what is needed and why before sensitive documents are requested.

Yes. A quotation may change if information is incomplete or changes, a valuation or medical assessment produces new information, the insurer adds terms, or the quotation validity period expires.

Managing a policy

Payments, documents and changes

Use only payment instructions confirmed through Jawany's official contact details or your secure portal. Never share a mobile-money PIN, card PIN, password or one-time security code with an advisor.

Issued documents appear in your customer or corporate portal after they are received and recorded. If a document is missing, contact us with the quotation or policy reference rather than assuming cover is in place.

Tell us promptly about material changes such as a new vehicle use, address, occupation, employee count, property value, business activity, security arrangement, beneficiary or other fact that could affect the insured risk.

Do not assume it will. Renewal terms are subject to updated information, insurer acceptance and payment. Review the renewal invitation, schedules, values and changes before the expiry date.

When something happens

Claims, support and complaints

Protect people first, contact emergency services where needed, take reasonable steps to prevent further loss, preserve evidence and notify us promptly. Do not admit third-party liability or dispose of damaged property without guidance.

No. Notification opens the assessment. The insurer decides whether the event is covered and what is payable after reviewing the policy, circumstances and supporting evidence. We coordinate information and follow-up but do not pre-approve the insurer's decision.

Use the claim record in your portal or contact the claims team with your claim or policy reference. We will distinguish what has been received, what is outstanding, the current insurer stage and the next action.

Submit a formal complaint with the relevant references, dates, sequence of events and the resolution you seek. It will be recorded, investigated and answered through the complaints process.
